WHAT ARE APPRENTICESHIPS?

  • If you become an Apprentice, you will learn on the job, build up your skills and knowledge, gain a relevant qualification and earn money too.
  • Your employer pays your wages or training allowance and gives you on-the-job training which allows you to achieve National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)
  • You also spend time with a learning provider gaining key skills that will be useful in the job market - like working in teams, problem solving, communication and using new technology. You will also study for a Technical Certificate which means you gain further knowledge and understanding of your job.
